Conference 2016!!

Last year at conference I had the opportunity to go and see the new resort in scottsdale!!  It blew me away!  I felt like I was walking into a resort in Mexico! Beautiful, tropical, pools, bars, entertainment, Starbucks and stores on site! If you have not registered yet DO IT NOW!  You are registering for a business changing experience but also a vacation filled with non stop fun, friendship making and of course suntanning!

November Meeting Re-cap!

How fun was last night?  Thanks to Rochelle Simon (Director) who volunteered her home to have all us ladies over for a Ladies & Lockets girls night in meeting!  

We indulged in not only some fabulous tips and tools for our businesses but also delicious snacks and deserts!   Thank you to everyone who brought a snack!!  I think Beths chocolate chip cookies won the BEST snack award!!

The Dreaded Phone

The phone…..our greatest asset and our greatest fear.

With technology, Facebook, texting & emailing, many of us have lost the basic skill of picking up the phone and speaking to someone.  I call it a skill because it really is one, one that not many of us are very good at anymore.  I’m not sure why that is, however, I do know that most of fear the phone.  
With our busy lives we don’t want to bother anyone, so we text, send Facebook messages or do anything we can do to avoid actual conversation where we could potentially receive a negative answer instead of a positive.  In fact, it is our belief that most of think we are going to get the negative.



This is what I am setting out to change. Last weekend I changed the way I used my lead cards.  I still asked people to fill them out, but instead of just putting a few notes on them about our conversation, I asked a very simple question to everyone.

 “Is it ok if I call you this week?”

That one simple question changed everything for me!  Most people said YES!  I followed up by saying something like “Great, I will be in touch with you this week”  For those that say NO, I simply asked if email or text was better, and then marked that down on the sheet.
What that did for me was take the pressure off phoning them.  They had already given me permission, and were now expecting my call. 

The BEST part was, that as I did my follow up calls this week, I booked 2 socials, and sent out a catalogue social.  I had a conversation with a potential artist, and sold 2 lockets!


Honestly, I was blown away at the results!  All because I simply asked if it was ok to call them!  I have a whole new appreciation for what the phone can do for my business, and I no longer fear it!
I made a conscience choice to face my fear, ask the question, and follow up with a phone call.  The phone really is one of the biggest assets we have to growing our businesses.

I challenge you to ask the question and make the call!

Being Accountable & Taking Ownership

If you are like me, you need help with accountability. It seems I know what im supposed to do but just can't get myself to do it.  When we try to hold ourselves accountable, it gets very easy to let things slide or be postponed.  We end up using the "ill do it tomorrow" but what happens is tomorrow turns into the next day and the next etc.   



Like the quote says accountability breeds response-ability.  When you joined south hill, which from now on I will always say "when you purchased your South Hill Designs business"   you took on a certain level of accountability. You decided to start this business and work it as a hobby, part-time or full-time.  Maybe you purchased the business to join a community of like minded woman who enjoy jewelry and being social?  Or you decided that you need a new career with freedom and flexibility.  In the beginning, in the heat of excitement we know our plan,  know what we want to do and start planning how to do it.   Overtime we begin to push little everyday activities like following up with leads, setting appointments to another day then another month which then creates an empty calendar and a sense of failure.

We tend to forget that this is OUR BUSINESS.  This is a real business that makes money BUT the really amazing part is you DETERMINE what your success level and outcome will be!  You are your own Boss, CEO, Entrepreneur.  There is no one that will  force you to do it their way.  It is YOU who decides!   So "take ownership" of your business, grab it by the horns and create your success story.


A great way to keep yourself accountable for those everyday tasks is to pick an accountability partner.  Reach out on our team page or message someone that inspires you!  I can guarantee you will not receive a "NO" as an answer from anyone.  Ask them to be your accountability partner to help keep you or even each other on track by emailing daily/weekly/monthly whatever you decide.

By doing this you are TAKING OWNERSHIP & being ACCOUNTABLE in your incredible journey= Owing a South Hill Designs business.
